Inspiration: Living in the northeast all my life, I am well familiar with the most welcome harbinger of spring the American Robin. I then married a Scotsman and was introduced to the more diminutive and talkative European one, which is in name only. This wee fellow actually belong to the Old World Flycatchers, while the American one is a Thrush. In any case, there is ongoing spirited debates with the in-laws as to which is the “true” robin…

Process: I have moved from 3×3 inch paintings for the most part - while being ecumenical in paint costs, the few extra dabs saved is probably not worth my eyesight. The French knots were done with regular thread to avoid balloon sized berries.
