Inspiration: “Choose a challenging bird,” brain said. “Make sure it’s super accurate,” it added. After painstakingly rendering each feather and nuance of plumage, I am reconsidering my future with sparrow related art.

Process: This was my first attempt at embroidering a bird — a rewarding challenge, and ultimately gifted to my husband, an avid birder and unwavering supporter.
