Plucky Painting

Inspiration: This painting began a few decades ago and never quite felt finished. When my sewing phase emerged, a small lightbulb went off — who doesn’t love a good makeover? Once the threads were in place and the tension quite literally built, I gave it a strum. And a third sense entered the conversation: sound.

Process: I used fishing line, pulling it taut — like a stubborn sturgeon — until the surface began to warp and shift. A few hours and sore hands later, the result was both visual and tactile: subtle ripples, unexpected texture, and light dancing across the thread.
