Cobweb on Bark

Details: Acrylic paint, embroidery, beads on canvas | 36” H x 18” W | Click any image to enlarge.

Inspiration: I painted this background in a New York minute — the same session as the birch bark piece. While that one quickly found its way to embroidery, this surface lingered. I loved the texture and coloring, but wasn’t convinced it was finished. Up close it was intriguing; from a distance, it still asked for something more. So I sat on my tuffet, dusted the cobwebs from my brain, and you can probably guess what followed.

Process: Clear thread, small beads, and rubber cement glue - I didn’t want a literal representation of a cob web, aka didn’t have the patience or knowhow so dew-dropped strands it became.
